Destinations Burundi About… The Chemin Neuf Community is based in Bujumbura the country’s capital. The Community most notably serves the Saint John the Baptist Church at Gihosha. At Bujumbura Mission of educational support for the pupils of the area ; Mission running games and education (French lessons, times of play and games) at the orphanage of Mercy: around fifty children live there each year ; We provide a presence amongst the children of the Missionary Sisters of Charity’s orphanage (Mother Teresa’s Sisters) (distribution of food to homeless people, keeping the young people entertained at the dispensary, medical care and distribution of medicines) ; Mission related to work with the earth: vegetable garden (Aubergines, tomatoes), growing peanuts, putting compost down. Destinations Ivory Coast About… The Chemin Neuf Community is based in Abidjan, the capital of the Ivory Coast, at Tibériade near to Grand Lahou in the bush where we have a training centre, and at Gagnoa in the centre of the country, where we run a school and a boarding facility for young girls.
